A man from Moncton is in custody following a robbery at a service station in Stewiacke Wednesday.
Police say the suspect entered the business off Hwy 102’s exit 11, threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded cash at noon on Jan. 17. When the clerk refused to comply, the suspect left the building and fled the area in a vehicle. No-one was hurt.
The RCMP were given a description of the vehicle and began searching the area
The suspect vehicle was spotted a short time later, and police stopped it on Hwy 104 near Debert.
The 30-year-old male suspect was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
The man is facing charges of robbery while in possession of a weapon, wearing a mask while committing an offence, and possession of a restricted weapon.
He will appear in Truro Provincial Court on Jan. 18.
