Convicted serial killer Bruce McArthur has been assaulted in prison, reports say.
The 67-year-old, who admitted to murdering eight men with ties to Toronto’s gay village, was taken to hospital last Thursday after an assault at the maximum security Millhaven Institution, west of Kingston, several news outlets are reporting.
How he was assaulted and the extent of his injuries were not known.
On Feb. 8, McArthur received eight concurrent life sentences for the first-degree murders of Skanda Navaratnam, Abdulbasir Faizi, Majeed Kayhan, Souroush Mahmoudi, Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam, Dean Lisowick, Selim Esen, and Andrew Kinsman between 2010 and 2017.
McArthur can’t apply for parole until he’s 91.
