Halifax Police looking for man who tried to lure girl with poetry


Halifax regional police are looking for the public’s help to identify a man who approached a girl in Dartmouth a week ago.

In a press release, police said they received a report on Thursday about an incident that occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 in the vicinity of Victoria Road and Shamrock Drive.

A 13-year-old girl had been walking toward Slayter Street when a man approached on foot and asked the girl if she would like to go with him to read some poetry.

The girl ignored him and kept walking.

The man is described as white, 35 to 40 years old, five-foot-seven, with a medium build and dark hair, balding on top.
