COLE HARBOUR, N.S. — RCMP are asking for public assistance as they investigate an apparent hate crime in Cole Harbour.

A news release Tuesday said police received a complaint Monday about racist graffiti that had been spray-painted overnight on a path between Chameau Crescent and Arklow Drive behind Bissett Court.

RCMP canvassed area residents for information about possible suspects and also inquired whether there were any security cameras that might aid in the investigation.

“We are now reaching out to the public for assistance,” RCMP said in the release.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Halifax district RCMP at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip to Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
