NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — A 23-year-old Priestville man was transported to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed during an altercation on Jan. 18.

At approximately 5:45 a.m., officers from Pictou District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Priestville Loop, in Priestville. A preliminary investigation has determined that an altercation occurred between two men known to each other while inside the residence.

A 33-year-old Pictou County man was arrested without incident later that morning on a roadway in Stellarton by Stellarton Police Service. He remains in custody while charges are being determined.
