A Halifax woman has pleaded guilty to four sex-related charges involving her nieces.
The 32-year-old woman cannot be named because of a publication ban on any information that would identify the victims — a toddler and her older sister.
During a video appearance in Halifax provincial court this week, the woman pleaded guilty to charges of sexual interference, voyeurism, receiving financial or other material benefit from the commission of an offence, and making child pornography.
The judge ordered a presentence report and scheduled a sentencing hearing for October.
The woman preyed on the girls between Jan. 1, 2018, and Jan. 31, 2019. Police learned of her actions as a result of an investigation into a South Shore man.
The sexual interference involved the toddler, while the voyeurism was committed against the older girl.
The woman first appeared in court March 1 and has been in custody for almost six months without applying for bail.
