AMHERST, N.S. — Four people are facing a variety of theft-related charges after police recovered 10 stolen recreational vehicles valued at $40,000.
Cumberland RCMP began investigating the theft of a side-by-side vehicle on Nov. 24 and on Nov. 26 the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with support from the Cumberland RCMP and Amherst Police Department, searched a home on Erncliffe Avenue in Amherst.
There were several people in the home at the time and one man was arrested without incident.
The search led to the recovery of the side-by-side and other stolen property including five ATVs, three motorcross bikes, a flat-deck trailer, licence plates and a welder.
The Cumberland street crime unit, working with Amherst Police and New Brunswick RCMP, searched a home on Old Fort Road in Aulac, N.B. and arrested one man without incident.
Officers recovered items used in the initial theft of a side-by-side and another ATV that had been previously reported stolen.
Brittany Anne Davidson, 31, of Amherst, has been charged with three counts of possession of stolen property under a value of $5,000 and two counts of possession of stolen property of a value over $5,000.
Thirty-three-year-old Albert Charles Jr. O’Blenis, of Amherst, has been charged with three counts of stolen property under a value of $5,000, two counts of stolen property under a value of $5,000 and theft of motor vehicle.
William Edward James Landry, 31, of Aulac, N.B. has been charged with theft of motor vehicle.
Christopher Todd Larade, 34, of Moncton, N.B. has been charged with six counts of breaching a recognizance order.
Larade is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Amherst on Jan. 13 and the others will appear on Jan. 30.
