The guitar can stop weeping now.
Mounties have recovered a stolen electric guitar and returned the treasured instrument to its Chester owner.
The Jan. 22 theft of a Gibson Les Paul worth $3,000 from a home on Pig Loop Road prompted its owner, Mike Dockrill, to go public on social media with his loss.
“The RCMP has conducted an investigation into the circumstances of this incident, and were able to locate the guitar and return it to the owner on February 10,” Mounties said Monday in a news release.
“A suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing.”
After speaking publicly about the theft, Dockrill heard from Billy Idol’s guitarist, Billy Morrison, who designed the instrument. Morrison promised to ease the blow by either replacing the guitar if he could find another one. Other options included sending Dockrill free tickets to a Billy Idol concert or a piece of art.
