Man facing several charges after incident at Dartmouth shop

Investigators with the Halifax Regional Police's sexual assault investigation team of the integrated criminal investigation Division have charged a 76-year-old man in relation to a historical sexual assault that occurred in Halifax in the 1980s.

DARTMOUTH, NS

Police were called to the Atlantic Compassion Club Society in Dartmouth, at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday after a man who was refused service became belligerent.

Halifax Police report the man then drove off erratically in a stolen vehicle, but returned

a short time later and tried to get another customer to buy cannabis for him. While doing so he flashed a firearm at the customer, threatening to use it. The weapon was later found to be a replica BB gun.

The suspect then drove off erratically again in the stolen vehicle. When located by police he fled on foot and ran into traffic, but was arrested.
