A Weymouth man charged with stabbing another man and assaulting RCMP officers in Kings County has been released from custody.
Colton Leigh Thibault, 23, was arrested after a stabbing in a North Kentville home early Wednesday morning.
RCMP were called to a home at 3:30 a.m on Charles Street, where a 21-year-old victim was found with injuries police describe as serious but not life-threatening.
Thibault was arrested outside the residence and taken to the RCMP office in New Minas, where he allegedly assaulted two officers.
He has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of assaulting a peace officer and breach of probation.
Police said in a release that Thibault and the victim knew each other.
Thibault appeared in Kentville provincial court Thursday and was released on conditions. He will be back in court March 21.
