A Lunenburg County man is dead after a two-car collision on Highway 103 near Upper Tantallon on Sunday afternoon.
The victim, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene, Halifax District RCMP said in a news release Monday.
“Initial investigation determined that his vehicle, a 2006 Saturn Ion, was struck from behind by a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier,” police said in the release.
Both cars were travelling west at the time. The crash occurred between exits 5 and 5A.
The driver of the Cavalier, a 17-year-old male from Lunenburg County, was treated at the scene by EHS for minor injuries, police said.
A section of Highway 103 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision analyst examined the scene. The investigation is continuing.
