TRURO, N.S.
Update: Shortly after noon today (Tuesday, Nov. 20) someone left Celine's bag and items with a friend of hers.
It only took a minute for some of a 16-year-old girl’s most valuable items, including a phone that held some of the last photos of her grandmother, to go missing from a doorstep.
Celine Curren and a friend were moving some of her things into an apartment at 189 Arthur Street, around 9 p.m. on Nov. 19, when a bag containing her belongings was stolen. Her friend set the bag down for a moment while getting things into the building, and it quickly disappeared.
“There are irreplaceable pictures of me and my nan, who recently passed, on the phone so it means a lot to me,” said Celine. “It also has my school log-in information.
“I almost always have my phone in my pocket, but I put it in the bag because I was afraid it would fall out while I was moving.”
There were also shoes, items of clothing, and body lotion in the bag, which was an insulated green Sobeys bag, with a broken zipper.
“Most of the stuff wouldn’t mean anything to other people, and I hope someone will return it,” said Celine. “I don’t want anyone to be in trouble for this, I just want my stuff back.”
If someone finds the items, they’re asked to leave them with someone who can get them back to Celine, call Truro Police at 902-895-535, or leave a message with Isaac at 902-324-1836.
