The vote tallies have been made and Truro came out on top in the Coors Banquet One Horse Town concert contest. Coors made the announcement just a few hours ago.

That means – along with bragging rights for rallying the most votes – Truro will host a concert Sept. 16, featuring Dean Brody, Chad Brownlee and River Town Saints. The venue for the concert remains to be determined, as does the way in which people can acquire tickets.

The Town of Truro was the only Atlantic finalist. Other contenders were Kenora, Ont.; Kimberly, B.C.; Vermilion, Alta.; Gimli, Man.; and St. Jean Port Joli, QC.

This marks the second year Coors has hosted the competition.
