Tom Chisholm is the new deputy mayor for the Town of Truro.
He was chosen to fill the position at the town council meeting on January 5.
The Ward 2 councillor was the only nominee for the deputy mayor position, which was held by Ward 1 Councillor Cheryl Fritz for the last two years.
