TATAMAGOUCHE, N.S. — Temporary closures are taking place in the emergency department of Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Collaborative Emergency Centre this week.

The department will be closed Thursday, Oct. 3 and Friday, Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. due to

a lack of physician coverage.

Patients with emergencies will be redirected to the most appropriate emergency department for care.

The department is open during overnight hours, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., with coverage provided by a registered nurse/oversight physician team.

Those experiencing a medical emergency should always call 911. General health concerns can be directed to HealthLink 811 where advice and information are available around the clock by dialing 811. The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.

Anyone who is unclear on a proper course of action can contact the hospital at 902-657-2382.
