The 17-year-old driver of a car involved in a collision on Pleasant Valley Rd. Thursday morning suffered serious, but not life -hreatening, injuries.

Around 8:30 a.m. a collision involving a small car and a tractor trailer truck, without a trailer attached, took place near the Hwy. 102 overpass. RCMP report the vehicles collided when the  car crossed the centre line while negotiating a curve on an icy road.

The 17-year-old driver, who was the only person in the car, was removed with assistance from the Brookfield and Stewiacke Volunteer Fire Departments. She was taken, by EHS, to hospital in Truro, and then by LifeFlight to Halifax. 

The lone occupant of the truck was not injured.

Pleasant Valley Rd. was closed for two hours while police and emergency personnel were on scene.
