The Jaws of Life was used to extract at least one occupant from a vehicle that left the road and ended up partly over an embankment on Highway 2 in Upper Economy Wednesday afternoon.

No fatalities were reported from the single-vehicle crash although the EHS LifeFlight helicopter was dispatched to transfer a patient from the Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro to a Halifax hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours throughout the day and into the evening and motorists passing through the area were required to take a detour while an RCMP collision analyst worked the scene.

Further details of the crash were not immediately available.
