SHUBENACADIE, N.S.
Three men, including one from Shubenacadie, have been charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine following a seven-month Joint Force Operation led by the RCMP Enfield Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
Stephen Guy Lively, 32, of Shubenacadie, Shawn Kenneth Banfield, 35, of Lantz and Adrian Russell Nibby, 36, of Mill Village were arrested without incident and were remanded into custody until a scheduled hearing in provincial court in Shubenacadie Monday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said in a news release that an additional search will be conducted and further charges are expected.
The search of the men’s homes and a business on Mill Village Road in Hants County took place between April 11 and April 13. The searches resulted in the seizure of cocaine, cash, firearms and vehicles.
The investigation and searches involved assistance from Enfield RCMP, Halifax District RCMP, Pictou County Integrated SCEU (Pictou County RCMP, New Glasgow Regional Police Service, Westville Police Service and Stellarton Police Service), Halifax District Integrated SCEU, Colchester Integrated SCEU, RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime, Truro Police Service, Halifax Regional Police and CISNS.
