A family of five in Shortt’s Lake lost their home to fire Monday morning (Jan. 13) but everyone inside, including pets, got out safely. Firefighters were called to the residence on Cottage Lane at 7:40 a.m. Brigades from Brookfield, Stewiacke, Hilden, Upper Stewiacke and Cobequid were involved.
