TRURO, N.S. — G. Brandt Meat Packers Ltd. is recalling Brandt brand extra lean Kolbassa Sausage from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results and involves 250g packages with the best before date of Oct. 19 and UPC code 7 73321 47480 4.

Recalled products should be  returned to the store where they were purchased or disposed of safely.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make a person sick, sometimes leading to death.
