VALLEY, N.S. - Colchester District RCMP is investigating an armed robbery with a firearm in Valley and hopes someone can help identify a suspect from photos of a vehicle they have provided.

The incident took place Wednesday at about 6 p.m. Police were notified of the armed robbery that took place in an open area, near the intersection of Eagle Drive and Salmon River Road, in Valley.

The victim in the robbery sustained minor injuries after being struck by the weapon, which was never fired.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 19 to 25, with a slim to medium build and wearing a black toque. He was driving a red four-door compact sedan. The RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying the vehicle, its owner and occupants.

The investigation continues and anyone with information or has seen anything suspicious in this area on and around this date and time, is asked to call Colchester District RCMP at 902-893-6820.
