Debert residents are advised that night firing exercises using live ammunition will be taking place at the Debert Rifle Range from Sunday (Aug. 12) until Tuesday.

The live firing, being conducted by the Royal Canadian Navy, will begin each evening at sunset and end at midnight.

A news release from the Department of National Defence said the exercises are conducted to ensure that personnel are familiar with proper weapons handling during night-time operations.

“Members of the public transiting in the vicinity of the Debert Rifle Range are to exercise caution and keep clear of the property,” the release said.

Safety teams will monitor and control all activities.
