The announcement was made late Tuesday night that Matt Moore will take on the role.
For the past three years, Moore was the general manager for the PotashCorp Civic Centre in Sussex, N.B. Before taking on that position, Moore held a management role with the Moncton YMCA while providing recreation consulting services to organizations and municipalities across New Brunswick.
He’s worked with the Alberta Sport Development Centre and MacDonald Island Park.
“We are delighted to have attracted someone like Matt,” said Farida Gabbani, chairwoman of the board of directors at the local facility, in a news release. “He brings a strong focus on community and great general manager experience – he has already proven his ability to successfully lead a new recreational facility in a Maritime community.”
Moore has a Bachelor of Arts in sport and exercise psychology from the University of New Brunswick and is in the process of completing his Master of Business Administration.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this beautiful new facility,” he said in the same release. “My wife, our three daughters and I are looking forward to joining the Truro community.”
