TRURO, N.S. — One section of Truro’s Civic Square was much more peaceful than the other Thursday evening.
Both a National Citizen’s Alliance rally and the Truro Inclusion Fair were scheduled for the evening and while music, laughter and smiles filled one end, protestors were chanting and yelling at the other.
Every time NCA leader Stephen Garvey attempted to speak he was drowned out. At one point, Truro Police officers had to hold a protestor, who went after Garvey, back. After about an hour and a half the NCA leader left.
An Inclusion Fair organizer said protestors had come from Halifax and were not part of the fair.
Several local entertainers performed at the farmers' market end of the square and community groups had booths set up.
