Millbrook's Legends Gaming Centre supports local communities

MILLBROOK – With the support of their patrons Legends Gaming Centre has successfully helped raise $28,537.00 for local charities during the past year.

Hockey players with the West Colchester Hockey Association receive a cheque from Chris Weunsch, Legends general manager.

Legends Gaming Centre has been donating money back to local communities through its 50/50 draw since it opened in December of 2012. Charity recipients are chosen by application and are invited to participate in selling 50/50 draw tickets at the bingo for the week.

In January, for example, West Colchester Minor Hockey Association received $1,064.50 through Legends’ 50/50 program.

"I am very pleased and proud with the $28,537.00 raised, it is nice to see a community support its non-profit organizations the way that they have,” said Chris Weunsch, Legends general manager, in a news release. “We have built strong relationships and gained many new friends this past year and look forward to even more in the future" Legends has recently engaged in two new partnerships in hopes to further boost the bingo facility’s ability to raise funds for local charities. Markie Bus Tours is now offering a round-trip bus service from Bible Hill and downtown Truro to Legends five days a week during bingo sessions and Maritime Bus is offering packages that will bring bingo goers from communities as far away as Amherst, Oxford, Antigonish, New Glasgow, Sackville and Halifax to Legends’ upcoming Super Bingo on March 9.

Legends will continue to donate money back into local communities benefitting local organizations.
