“It would be amazing to perform at this,” said the 15-year-old Elmsdale resident. “I’ve been doing music as a career for about seven years but this opportunity is a first. It’s not every day your own province chooses you to represent them.”

Makayla Lynn was chosen by Music Nova Scotia to represent the province. She has three albums and has performed on stage with several country music icons.

“I hope people will vote and spread the word,” she said. “Other provinces have a lot more people but we have loyal people here.”

Some of her music can be heard online at www.makaylalynnmusic.com and people can vote for her at here until 4 p.m. on June 17.
