"Our goal for this year is for $10,000 said, Danielle Crowe, coordinator of the Truro event. "We're really hopeful. We're trying to get as much support as we can."
Organizers are knocking on business doors for donations to their prize draws while also imparting the message to the community at large that their donations are used directly for the fight against cancer and not used to pay for staff or other costs related to the event.
"We really want to put a big emphasis on the fact that all of the proceeds go straight to cancer research," said Crowe.
The run is set for Sept. 20 at Perennia Innovation Park in Bible Hill. Registration begins at noon with the run to be held from 1 to 4 p.m.
