Evan Price will attend 21inc's 2015 Under 40 Summit in Charlottetown at the beginning of November.

"21inc is certainly a growing organization, and I've always tried to do what they're striving toward," said Price, who operates FiddleHop Farms and is the president of Truro Herbal Co. "I found out I was nominated by somebody at Seed in Halifax."

Price will be one of 16 Nova Scotians to attend the summit, Nov. 1-6. It will give delegates an opportunity to deepen leadership competencies and network with others.

"There will be 50 of us there, all as ambitious and tenacious as the other," he said. "Everyone is respectfully accomplished in their own right."

The entrepreneur believes the summit will allow him to make connections that will strengthen his business opportunities and the region. The organization helps build networks between groups of emerging provincial and regional leaders.

Lisa Hrabluk, of Wicked Ideas Media, is chair of 21inc's board of directors and is pleased with both the number of nominations, as well as the quality of this cohort of participants for the 2015 summit.

"There is such an appetite in Atlantic Canada for events that bring entrepreneurial minds from across sectors together to feed the urge to generate new ideas and ways to assure prosperity of the region," she said.

Selection was based on seven core competencies: strategic and visionary thinking, collaboration, building and maintaining relationships, clear communication, change champion, innovation, and global citizen. The average age of delegates is 31, with an even representation of women and men.

"A very large part of 21 inc network continue to attend our activities or to keep in touch. This is a tribute to how their lives have been touched by their experience with us," said Hrabluk.
