TATAMAGOUCHE, N.S. — The emergency department at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Collaborative Emergency Centre in Tatamagouche will be closed Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The closure is taking place because of a lack of physician coverage. Patients with emergencies will be redirected to the most appropriate emergency department for care.

The department is open during overnight hours (8 p.m. to 8 a.m.) with coverage provided by a registered nurse/oversight physician team.

For medical emergencies, 911 should always be called. General health concerns can be directed to HealthLink 811 where advice and information are available around the clock by dialing 811. The Mental Health Crisis Line operates 24/7 at 1-888-429-8167.

Anyone who is unclear on a proper course of action can contact the hospital at 902-657-2382.
