Community wake to precede funeral service for former Millbrook Chief Lawrence Paul

TRURO – A community wake is to be held at 6 p.m. Saturday for former Millbrook First Nation Chief Lawrence Paul.

Paul died Wednesday night following a lengthy hospital stay. He was 79.

The wake is to be held at the Millbrook gymnasium, which will also be the site of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Sunday by members of the Truro Legion.

Paul’s funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Mission Church in Millbrook.

Paul served as chief of the Millbrook band for 28 years, between 1984 and 2012.
