Community service, probation ordered for Halifax man

TRURO - A Halifax man who pled guilty to two counts of theft from the Atlantic Wholesalers and the Atlantic Superstore was recently given a suspended sentence and placed on 12 months probation.

Matthew Wendell Steadman, 30, of 20 Dawn St., Apt. 302, also pled guilty to two counts of breaching court undertakings and was ordered to successfully take counselling for drug use and to refrain from using illicit drugs.

Steadman was further ordered to perform 20-hours of community service within nine months.
