Plenty of Pets
Buster is a 12-year-old dachshund who loves being with people.
He enjoys sitting with someone in a chair, going for drives, short walks, belly rubs and howling at sirens. He’s an easy-going boy who is house trained and will whine or go to the door when he needs to go out.
Buster’s family moved and surrendered him to a kill shelter in Texas. He came to Nova Scotia for rehoming but does have some health issues.
He doesn’t see well in low light, and will bump into things. His foster mum taps things to help him find his way.
His teeth were in bad shape so he had dental cleaning and some really bad teeth removed. The dental surgery didn’t go well. Following that he started losing blood and had problems breathing, and was diagnosed with aspirated pneumonia. He is expected to always cough and sneeze but he’s enjoying life. His new family will have to watch the coughing and sneezing to ensure it doesn’t get worse, and provide medical care when needed. He seems to be sensitive to strong cleaners so a home with no, of few, scents would be best. Because he has separation anxiety a home where someone is around most of the time would be best.
Buster needs a quiet home with no small children or cats. He snaps at cats and long-haired dogs.
Buster has lots of love to give and will make a sweet and loyal little friend for the right person.
