Beamer is a two-year-old beagle who, until recently, was working as a Canadian Border Services Agency sniffer dog. His time as a working dog ended when he began showing signs of pain in his back.
Beamer has now been taken into by Good Bones Rescue and will soon be ready for a new home.
He’s a friendly dog who enjoys meeting people and is a good traveller. He gets along well with other dogs, knows basic commands and doesn’t show any signs of resource guarding. He’ll run after toys if someone throws them but won’t bring them back.
Vet exams and tests show Beamer is probably suffering from an intervertebral mineralization of the lumbar area, which is causing inflammation and pain. He is currently on anti inflammatories and will be placed on a plan for future care.
Beamer is not recommended with kids under 10, just because he would not enjoy being jumped on or grabbed.
