Debert man pleads guilty to drinking and driving

TRURO – A Debert man who pled guilty in provincial court to failing the breathalyzer has been fined $1,150.

Christopher Slack, 27, of 84 East Folly Rd., was charged on Aug. 9 in Onslow. His driving privileges have been suspended for 12 months.

Dartmouth man fined for failing breathalyzer

TRURO – A Dartmouth man who was charged on Aug. 24 in Millbrook for failing the breathalyzer was fined $1,150 in provincial court on Wednesday.

Patrick Joseph Walton, 56, also lost his driving privileges for one year.

Clothes dryer theft leads to probation

TRURO – A Salmon River resident who pled guilty to theft and breaching probation was handed a suspended sentence and placed on 18 months probation.

Clayton Ernest Reid, 28, of 21 Montgomery Lane, pled guilty in provincial court to stealing a clothes dryer from a rental property belonging to Garry Pye Real Estate and to breaching previous probation terms.

Reid must adhere to a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. while on probation and must also refrain from using or possessing illicit drugs. He must also successfully take counselling for drug use, psychiatric, psychological or mental health issues, life skills and career/educational advancement.
