TRURO, N.S. — People are encouraged to share their concern for the planet during a gathering in Truro on Friday. A climate strike, organized by the Truro Climate Action team at the Cobequid Educational Centre, will take place in the Civic Square at 1 p.m.
“We’ll have speakers and some sustainable products people can sample,” said Mia Perry, a member of the team. “We’re trying to incorporate as many things as we can.
“The last event was pretty uplifting, and people were trying to spark hope. We’re still doing that, but we also want people to realize how serious and urgent things are. The more we can draw attention to it the better. We want to show we’re serious about climate change.”
Organizers also hope to provide people with some tips on how to live a more sustainable life.
