TRURO
A Battle of Britain parade will take place this Sunday (Sept. 16) in Truro.
The 78th Remembrance Service Parade will include participation from the Royal Canadian Air Force Association 102 Wing Truro, along with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, the 77 Arrowhead Air Cadet Squadron and other cadet corps from the Truro area.
A Memorial Service of Remembrance for the “brave men and women” who served, supported and lost their lives during the infamous German air raid on Britain during the Second World War.
The parade is to form at the old Fire Hall on Young Street at 12:45 p.m. and proceed to the cenotaph. The march is scheduled to begin at 12:50 p.m., with arrival at the cenotaph planned for 1 p.m.
Background on the history of the Battle of Britain is to begin at 1:10 p.m. by RCAF Association 102 Wing president Paul Higgins, with other presentations by numerous dignitaries to follow.
