ONSLOW MOUNTAIN, N.S. — Two drive-by shootings took place in Colchester County early on June 23.

At 5:27 a.m. Colchester District RCMP responded to a call about gunshots being fired at a residence on Adam MacCallum Rd., in Onslow Mountain, while people were at home. The caller told police a small dark vehicle came toward the residence a short time later and shots were then fired at a vehicle parked in the driveway. No one was hurt during the incidents.

During the investigation, police learned a house on West North River Rd., less than three kilometres from the other home, had been struck by gunshots earlier in the morning. No one was hurt at that time either.

“The damage was fairly minimal but there was a lot of potential for something serious,” said Cpl. Jennifer Clarke, public information officer with the Nova Scotia RCMP. “We haven’t made a connection between the incidents yet, but the investigation is ongoing, and we hope people who live in the area have information that will help.”

Two people were arrested but have been released without charges.

Police have searched both homes, examined vehicles and contacted neighbours.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact Colchester District RCMP at 902-893-6820. To remain anonymous call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips App.
