Upper Rawdon, N.S.

A man who was trapped in his vehicle after a crash is still alive, thanks to the quick actions of others.

Saturday morning, around 11:15 a.m., a vehicle left the road on Highway 14, in Upper Rawdon and caught fire. Smoke made it difficult for those who stopped to assist to see if there was anyone in the vehicle, but when they discovered someone was trapped they broke a door window and removed the man. The vehicle was quickly being engulfed in flames.

‎"We want to thank those brave individuals who took it upon themselves to pull over and help during such a dangerous situation," said RCMP Cpl. Calvin Byard. "Without a doubt, their actions saved the driver's life."

The 30-year old man, who had been the only person in the vehilce, suffered serious injuries and was taken by EHS LifeFlight to the QEII Hospital in Halifax.
