Baloo the cat went on an expected trip after he climbed into a courier box heading for Calgary.
Jacqueline Lake sent rims for a car to a friend on Dec. 6. The next day she noticed the long-haired tabby and white cat was missing and thought he had got outside.
The Dartmouth woman searched her neighbourhood, and then posted on Facebook, asking anyone who spotted him to call her.
There was no word on his whereabouts until Dec. 10, when someone from Purolator called, asking Lake wat she’d packed in the boxes. Baloo had escaped from his box while it was in Montreal.
Baloo is being cared for by the Montreal SPCA and will be getting a drive back to Nova Scotia with Freedom Riders, an organization that arranges ground transportation for animals to rescues and forever homes.
Lake said, on Facebook, that someone with Purolator offered to fly Baloo home, but she felt it would be best for him to travel by car.
