NORTH RIVER, N.S. — NORTH RIVER, N.S. – Anyone craving ice cream this summer can enjoy a cold treat at the former Molly’s Dairy Bar, courtesy of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Colchester.

The group is mentoring eight youths aged 15-19 to run the dairy bar on Hwy 311 in North River, with profits going back into programs supporting children and youth in Colchester County.

The eight employees are paid a wage and will learn basic workplace tasks such as customer service, with a chance to learn more advanced skills like financial management.

Meantime, customers can enjoy more than 30 different flavours of ice cream as well as sundaes and coffee-based treats.

The reborn dairy bar will be open on May 11 at 10 a.m. The parlour will remain open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week until September.
