BIBLE HILL, N.S. — Students at Bible Hill Junior High can learn about careers from medicine to flying helicopters at their school’s career fair Wednesday.
The Nov. 20 career fair is a chance for students to interact with employers, including business, government and service organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Colchester. Representatives from Cobequid Educational Centre will also be on hand to guide students through different High School course options.
“They have to choose their courses this year and the courses they choose will determine their career paths,” said school counsellor Lisa MacNutt.
It is also a chance for students to learn about both the responsibilities and perks of various jobs, as well as likely salaries.
All 320 Grade 8 and 9 students at Bible Hill Junior High are expected to attend. The Grade 9s will complete a morning scavenger hunt, which will let them interact with potential employers.
Bible Hill Junior High hosts a career fair once every two years, the last one being in 2017.
