ANTIGONISH, NS

A complaint about a man threatening a woman resulted in one man facing several charges.

On January 12, just before 3 p.m., Antigonish District RCMP were contacted about a man threatening a woman and claiming he had a gun in his vehicle.

Police located the man outside of a home on Braemore Avenue and arrested him without incident. When they checked his vehicle the found a .22 calibre handgun in a backpack, as well as ammunition, a baseball bat and a knife.

John Francis Gerrior, 54, of Antigonish, has been charged with several firearms offences, two counts of Criminal Harassment and one count of Uttering Threats. He appeared before a judge on January 15 and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to return to Antigonish Provincial Court on February 14.
