FORT LAWRENCE, N.S. – A 75-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle collision in the eastbound lane of Highway 104 near Exit 1A at the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border.

RCMP said in a news release Friday, the man was found dead in the driver’s seat of the 2012 Nissan Murano that collided with a tractor trailer.

The initial investigation indicates the vehicle driven by the man collided head on with the tractor trailer. No one else was injured.

Jennifer Clarke, the Nova Scotia RCMP's public information officer, said the victim's vehicle was travelling west in the eastbound lane when it collided with the tractor trailer.

The eastbound side of Highway 104 is closed to traffic while traffic analysts investigate the crash. Traffic was being rerouted around the crash via Highway 970 in New Brunswick to Highway 366 in Tidnish.

The westbound lane of the highway was not affected.
