Halifax Regional Police and the province are offering a $150,000 reward in an effort to solve the beating death of Benjamin Lokeny.
The 51-year-old was found bleeding from the head at the corner of Buddy Daye and Gottingen streets during the early-evening hours of July 20, 2017. Lokeny died a little more than a month later, on Aug. 28.
The $150,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and convicton in the case was announced in a Department of Justice release issued Tuesday.
"I hope that adding this case to the rewards program will encourage people to come forward with information that may help to solve this crime and provide his family, and the community, with closure," said Justice Minister Mark Furey in the release.
People with information must provide their name and contact information and be prepared to testify in court. All calls will be recorded.
