Truro Tree Lighting and Santa Claus Parade taking place this weekend

The Christmas lights will be shining bright this weekend.

Truro’s tree lighting will take place Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Civic Square.

There will be music, from Sergio Garrido and ensemble, and the Truro Youth Singers, as well as hot chocolate and cakes, provided by Sobeys, Bible Hill Kinsmen, and MADD Colchester.

The Truro Farmers’ Market will host a festive evening market from 4-8 p.m., with music by the Cantabile Boys’ Choir from 5-5:30 p.m., and the CEC Jazz Combo performing from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Saturday evening, the Santa Claus Parade will wind through the streets, beginning at 6 p.m.

The parade route starts at Lorne Street, and continues right on Queen, left on Court, left on Prince, right on Young, left on Esplanade, continue to Walker, left on Queen and back to Lorne.

D & D Bookkeeping, 44 Young St., will be giving away hot chocolate during the parade again this year.
