Truro firefighters are marking the fire brigade’s 150th anniversary with three-days of activities this year.

The Truro Volunteer Fire Brigade’s ‘Walk in Our Boots’ event will be held September 28-30, with activities at the fire station and the civic square.

People are invited to drop by the fire station on Friday, September 28, between 7 and 9 p.m., to view a special fire station history and memorabilia display.

Saturday will be filled with activity at the Truro Civic Square from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., with the Walk in Our Boots Combat Challenge, firefighting displays and demos, and firefighting activities for children. The combat challenge will involve teams from at least nine brigades.
On Sunday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be a fire truck show and shine, as well as an open house with displays and activities for all ages.

Firefighters will also be happy to answer questions from anyone interested in learning about becoming a volunteer.
