Some of Catherine Campbell’s work will continue, as children and police officers join in a fun event in her memory.
The third annual ‘Constable Catherine Campbell Kids Awareness Day’ will be held in the Truro Civic Square.
“We’re just carrying on Catherine’s memory,” said her mother, Susan Campbell. “She wanted kids to be comfortable with police in uniform and she always had time to talk to kids. I feel it’s important to get the message out.”
She and her husband, Dwight, will be at the event, which will include face painting, bouncy houses, food, and tours of the police station. Children will also be able to explore some of the police, EHS and town vehicles.
A colouring contest, for Grade 2 students at Truro schools, is being held and the winners will be announced during the day.
The event will run from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on June1.
