The Stampeders, one of the preeminent Canadian rock bands of the ’70s, will be on tour in the spring and have a stop booked in Mabou.

Reserved seating tickets for the show on April 3 at 7:30 p.m. are $63.50 (tax and facility fees included; service charges may apply) and are available at the Strathspey Performing Arts Centre box office, by calling 902-945-5300 or through tickets.strathspeyplace.com.

From 1971 through 1976, the Stampeders toured more extensively across the country and overseas than any other Canadian group during that time, according to a news release.

In 1977, the trio of Rich Dodson (guitar), Kim Berly (drums) and Ronnie King (bass) parted company but reunited at the Calgary Stampede 15 years later. Since then, they’ve been recognized by SOCAN with a lifetime achievement award, been inducted into the SOCAN Songwriters Hall of Fame on five occasions and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame for their 1971 hit Sweet City Woman.
