TRURO, N.S. —

The Colchester East Hants VON is offering people a sweet deal.

The Sweetheart Treats fundraiser is back for the third year, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

For $20 people get two slices of cheesecake and chocolates, packed in a decorative bag.

“This is our main fundraiser for the year and it’s been growing,” said Kate Lively, chair of the local VON board. “We raised about $3,500 last year.”

The Medicine Shoppe, on Willow and Prince Streets, is the corporate sponsor, covering the cost of supplies.

“The money raised supports our community programs like adult day care, Vial of Life, and the Frozen Favourites meals,” said Lively.

About 200 treat bags are being prepared.

Anyone wishing to order treats should call the VON office at 902-893-3803 (Ext 313) by Tuesday. Feb. 12. Treats will be ready for pickup on Feb. 14.
