DENMARK, N.S. — People are invited to visit the Sutherland Steam Mill Museum as it celebrates the 40th anniversary as part of the Nova Scotia museum family
On Aug. 10, for the first time in almost 20 years, visitors will be able to see the massive 130-year-old steam engine, nicknamed Hercules, chugging away and driving the sawmill. A few may also get a chance to blow the steam whistle, which can be heard for miles.
The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., with groups of 10 to 15 being taken through.
There will be oatcakes, apple pie, and entertainment from Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Don Haggart.
The Sutherland Steam Mill Museum is located at 3169 Hwy 326, Denmark.
